HASE is a Japan-based media artist who turns time into something viewers can enter, move through, and alter. Working with VR and interactive installation, they reconfigure moving-image apparatuses such as the zoetrope as immersive environments in which bodily movement changes the rhythm, speed, and continuity of images. Their work explores how digital media reorganise our experience of time, perception, and the present.

Their work has been presented internationally at SIGGRAPH Asia Art Gallery, Slamdance D.I.G., Recto VRso at Laval Virtual, and SXSW Sydney XR+. They hold a PhD in Fine Arts and a master’s degree in moving-image production.
